SCOTTISH BOULDERING CHAMPIONSHIPS

is that volunteers for route setting?

i should have been more specific: route setters will no longer be required

however, on the day we need volunteers to help supervise, judge routes and possibly a computer wizz-kid to add up the scores... emx

Additional info: will cost a 5er for club members to compete but I'm afraid non club members will have to pay the full 15 pounds.
We should have transport to take us out to Ratho and back but if we have a massive number of competitors then additional cars would be good.
ANYONE is welcome to compete, it won't be a massively serious competition so don't worry about your ability.

Those of you who competed in BUCS, team selection will be a little bit different this time. As we can enter as many people as we want there won't be heats to choose team members. Basically if anyone who is interested can email me with the following info:

NAME
MATRIC NUMBER
EASY LEAGUE (TECH 4A-6A) OR HARD LEAGUE (4C-6C)
TEAM OR INDIVIDUAL COMPETITOR
IF YOU CHOOSE TEAM EVENT; APPROX GRADE YOU CLIMB, ROPED/BOULDER WHATEVER

All who competed in BUCS will be expected to compete in the harder league, active club members ESPECIALLY girls will be expected to compete in mixed teams of 3 (all competitors will be put into a table of individual results anyway) You are welcome to sort yourselves into mixed teams of three (2girls 1boy/1girl 2boys) but if you don't have a team to join, by sending me your climbing grade, I can sort people into teams of similar ability.

surely a proper bouldering championship should happen in the Peak, where there are proper gritstone boulders.

That's nothin, proper peak climbers just have bloody stumps . . .

if you enter for this fiver do you get to have a jolly day on the lead climbs after? this could be a motivation for a thoroughly crap boulderer.

its THIS SATURDAY at Ratho, its £15 per competitor but a 5er for GUMCLUBBERS. even if you are not definietly sure at this point let me know so i can estimate numbers. There will be an EASY competition so don’t worry if your not feeling that competitive, its just for fun J

prizes will hopefully be courtesy of wild country and dmm although i'm not sure just how exciting they will be! we should have some medals good to go too.

we have transport and will probably be leaving the GU at about 9am
with an aim to start climbing at 11, you can continue climbing on the lead walls after the competition without an extra charge ;)
