Welcome to the new website!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the new GUMClub website! It's taken quite a while for me to get it all together and it's undoubtedly going to have problems whilst I'm still sorting everything out, but, I'm hoping it will help the committee and members of the Glasgow University Mountaineering Club stay in touch for many years to come :)

I have tried to get as many features in as possible and improve the current functionality of the old site. Some of the new features I have or am implementing include:

• Forums (with anti-spam!)
• Cleaner/friendlier interface
• User-manageable gallery - with videos!
• Committee privileges to update the site through the CMS. (Committee members contact me for more info!)
• An easily readable calendar of events to which all committee members can add dates/times.
• Improved (categorised) articles and news.

I would really appreciate any feedback on site and errors/mistakes you have found. You can contact me from the committee or Contact Us page. I can only make things better with you output!

I really must thank Tom Halfpenny for his content which has been used throughout the site. Tom designed and maintained the original GUMClub site, during which time he wrote a lot of the high quality content that still features on this new site.
